Sound Club is a sequencer that even though is grid/piano roll has always been grouped with trackers I suppose because it can export to S3M & 3 types of MOD formats....
Very fluid for quickly composing either by step recording on QWERTY or with MIDI Keyboard or painting notes by mouse... This is all done realtime with pattern looping also in same manner changing volumes, pans & tempo on the fly using the very quick 'change & listen'... Pans & volumes can be dragged at any diagonal & portamentos for notes easily 'set' & not just for one but any singular 'voice' has a POLY piano roll so chords can be slid as well as single notes & if you check 'all voices then the slides will be applied to ALL voices at once...
Patterns can be any length & simply grow as you play & some may think because it does not support triplets that you can't utilize that sort of composing but that would be wrong because patterns can be any length PLUS you can easily change tempo such triplet feel is easy as well as any other like 5/5 feel within your 4/4 compo...
There are a few drawbacks like the WAV recording is screwed up... It'll just make a huge WAV of NOTHING wasting HDD space till you turn it off. For the Non-Tracker one can simply record stereo mix or output to Virtual Audio Cable which is what I used... Using this method one can import your own samples to use but drawback is that you just have a single stereo files to process, you can do some but on the whole tune not tracks...
Here is example I used my own 16bit samples at 44,100 KHZ for this then recorded it through Virtual Audio Cable then after trimming I ran it into Cubase VST-24 3.7 with first 2 measures DRY then the rest WET...

So as far as stereo capture that may be the extent of possibility... Just morph between the filter extremes real slow & gradually fade out & call it 'Trance'...
So now what about the TRACKER formats? Well, the internal instruments are small, cheap & work well exporting however using your own samples they gotta be 8-bit, 22,050 KHZ or less or S3M or the MODs will not handle it... Downgrading your good samples results in NOISE so best method is just use the plinky/crappy samples within Sound Club THEN when you export the import to tracker CHANGE OUT the samples for much better ones ALSO now each voice will be on it's own track making applying FX very easy... Much better than the previous method...

So far have tried opening with OpenMPT, SVArTracker & MEDsoundStudio... So far preferring SVArTracker for it's machine hookups which make complex routes easy... MEDsoundStudio is great for continued work with it's right-click menu on tracks... OpenMPT I never liked... Also tried MadTracker which seems to be the best you must switch to MadTracker mode...
You can hook up a MIDI Keyboard... Sound Club is limited in how many MIDI devices it will 'see' so I had to use Spacetoad then output that to MIDI Matrix Virtual Port so then that setup worked...
