This is a deep exploration of the softest side of a solo cello, but why focus on only soft articulations? Well, I believe that it's the small, barely audible details and imperfections that makes a sound feel intimate and human, and the softer you play, the more these sounds come to the surface. But you have to get close to hear them. That's why we recorded Iremia with no fever than three close mic positions, with the closest mic actually floated inside the instrument itself. But of course you also get a more traditional mid and far perspective, for ultimate sound sculpting capability.
Of course there's more than one way to play soft on string instrument, you can also put on a mute, so every articulation in this library comes both as normale and muted. The sustains also come with a super con sordino option, which is without a doubt the softest sound I have ever sampled.
