Site Stuff • Problems using/setting YouTube Channel in user profile

I set up a YouTube Channel a few years ago, and thought I would try updating my profile to reflect this, but I'm having a few problems.

My YT username (a gobbledygook string) begins with a numeric character, which I'm unable to enter via the "edit profile" dialog on KVR. I think KVR prefixes the YT username with "https://youtube.com/user/"
but the "edit profile" dialog here won't let be enter the correct string due to it containing numeric characters at the beginning of the string. In any case, when I type the string "https:/youtube.com/user/mygobbledygookusernameprefixedwithnumerics" into a chrome browser, I get a 404 error.

My YT channel name (also a gobbledygook string) is based on the YT username, but is not preceded by the two leading numerics, but the KVR site doesn't support building of URLs prefixed with "https://youtube.com/channel/".

Recently YouTube gave users the option to set a user handle of the format "https://youtube.com/@" immediately followed by the user's self-selected YT handle name (in my case, this is not a gobbledygook string but a humanly-readable name).

I can see that vurt seems to be having a similar problem, although he may not have noticed!

I think the @handlename solution is the most elegant, but I'm not sure whether it would adversely affect many existing KVR users. The 404 errors I have seen would seem to indicate that the /user/ methodology may be obsolete.
