I need to do the following:
1) Record vocals into swipe comp stack (20-50 takes deep)
2) Swipe comp to create composite best take
3) Place Melodyne directly on the swipe comp track and tune vocals
4) Swap out (by changing swipes in underlying comp) individual words or phrases that don't tune well or need to be replaced for any other reason.
5) Update ONLY those words or phrases within Melodyne without jeopardizing the tuning work that is already completed for the rest of the track
#5 is really the key benefit of ARA. In Logic or ProTools, once a word or phrase is swapped out, it is automatically updated in Melodyne without affecting any of the tuning already completed allowing for a MUCH more powerful workflow. After all, why settle for a word or phrase that doesn't tune right when another 20-50 are right there and can be swapped in seconds without issue no matter where you are in the process?
That being said, I'm doing everything else in Bitwig now, and this is not the case with Bitwig's lack of ARA support. I can do 1-4, but Melodyne does not automatically update the word or phrase I swapped in, so...
Does anyone have a best practice for doing this in Bitwig that reliably updates Melodyne to include the changes made to the underlying swipe comp, but without screwing up any of tuning work already completed on the rest of the track?
